LAST week the EXPRESS received a letter without a name – not because the writer wanted to stay anonymous but simply because he (or maybe she) does not have a name.
This little creature has decided it is time to get a name and he needs residents’ help.
This is his letter, published in the latest newsletter of The Friends of Kempton Park Libraries:
“I urgently need a name. Please help by coming up with an original name.
“This is ME – the logo of The Friends of the Kempton Park Libraries. You can see me on their letter head, posters, adverts and of course on the sticker you find when opening a library book that was donated by The Friends.
“I assist The Friends in raising funds for books, is interested in all their activities and enjoy watching the members of the Friends’ craft circle creating the most beautiful things which are occasionally sold on behalf of The Friends’ book fund.
” What am I without a name? Please, dear readers, don’t you think that after so many years, it is about time that I get a name? Help me being named by sending nice or humorous names to the Editor of The Friends’ newsletter. Her name is Ellen Harmse and her e-mail address is eharmse@mweb.co.za.
“You can also fill in a competition form at any of the libraries. The competition is free but a small donation would be appreciated. Just place it in the donation tin on the counter.
“The competition closes on October 15 in order to be able to announce the winners and follow-up winners in our November newsletter.”
