Malema visits tornado victims
"We don't want government to build tents. We want government to rebuild the damaged houses and shelters of our people."
The Economic Freedom Fighters’ (EFF) Commander-In-Chief Julius Malema has promised the families affected by a tornado that he will make a call to the government to intervene.
He said this recently, when he conducted a door-to-door visit to the affected families in Winnie Mandela Zone 10.
He was joined by members of the Tembisa EFF branch.
Mr Malema visited Tembisa as part of the party’s pre-election campaign, however this was cancelled due to the tornado disaster.
“It will not be good to campaign while our people are affected by a disaster. It will appear to be unreasonable, irrational and does not show compassion or sympathy with our people. I went door-to-door to see the extend of the damage caused by the disaster.
“We don’t want government to build tents. We want government to rebuild the damaged houses and shelters of our people,” he said.
“We will put pressure on government to come and help the people in Winnie Mandela,” he said.
