Thieves make off with business’ geyser pipes

According to Van der Merwe this is not the first time that they have encountered a case of vandalism or theft

A local business at 91 Monument road was left with no water on Monday morning after thieves stole the copper piping off the outside geyser.

Owner of the psychologist office, Jeanette van der Merwe discovered the running water around 8am when she arrived at work and found that the copper pipes had been cut off.

“We only found that the pipes were gone when we arrived and shut off the water until someone can come fix it, but we are still waiting for the police to come out to the premises to further investigate who the culprit is because there is blood on the wall,” said Van der Merwe.

According to Van der Merwe this is not the first time that they have encountered a case of vandalism or theft.

“In January and February our advertising boards were pulled off the walls and the decorative rocks at the parking area were scattered all over the premises.

“We also encountered two thieves who stole a laptop and a cellphone pretending to be customers and we struggle with the people who walk past our business at night who urinate on our premises.”

Van der Merwe would like to warn other surrounding businesses to be alert for vandals and thieves and report it to the police.
