AFTER a failed attempt to make off on foot with eight stolen garden chairs, a suspect was arrested on Thursday last week just before 3pm by Super Cops in Van Riebeeck Park.
According to Super Cops reaction officer, Cobus Heymans, the owner of the stolen chairs pressed the panic button and went on to follow the suspect.
“She got into her car, accompanied by another woman, and followed the suspect to Soutpansberg Drive near Bishops Court, where I arrested him,” explained Heymans.

Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, said the garden chairs were valued at R1 000.
“The complainant, who is the owner of the house, said she was inside her house and, through the window, spotted an unknown suspect picking up her garden chairs. She then pressed the panic button,” explained Molokomme.
The suspect, aged 27, was handed over to Norkem Park SAPS and will face a charge of theft.
Three other suspects were arrested by Norkem Park police members on the same day for theft, possession of dagga and malicious damage to property.
