SEVENTEEN suspects were arrested between Friday, January 20, and Monday, January 23, by the Norkem Park SAPS, with the support of various other law-enforcement components of the Ekurhuleni North cluster.
Vispol, detectives, sector managers, social components, station reservists and patrollers helped with the arrests.
According to Norkem Park SAPS spokesman Capt Lesibana Molokomme, arrests were made for assault (5), possession of dagga (3), possession of nyaope (1), driving under the influence (2), malicious damage to property (1), shoplifting (3), fraud (1) and the possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle (1), which was effected by an off-duty metro police officer.
The officer stopped a white Mazda 323 in Olienhout Street, Birchleigh, and, upon further investigation, found it had been reported stolen in Bronkhorstspruit, in April, last year.
The suspects are due to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court.
