A Glen Marais father and his daughter were shot at by armed men during an attempted hijacking on Friday last week.
Kempton Police’s spokesperson, Capt Jethro Mtshali, confirmed the incident occurred as they were arriving home in separate cars on Vygie Avenue at about 9pm.
The daughter was driving in a Polo ahead of her father, arriving first to open the gate.

“As the daughter was about to open the gate, she saw a suspicious person standing by the gate,” Mtshali explained. “Her father tried to drive into the person, when a second man appeared and fired several shots in his direction.”
Fortunately, no one was hurt during the shooting. The suspects immediately fled the scene.
“We’re investigating a case of attempted hijacking.”
