Three hijacked vehicles and three firearms were found in Makhulong Section, Tembisa.
Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha said it is believed that Ekurhuleni Metro Police received information about a red Golf 6 that was hijacked in Garsfontein, Pretoria.
“The tracker signalled that the vehicle was driving towards Tembisa. The police went to a house in Makhulong Section. On arrival they found the hijacked Golf 6,” said Captain Ralidzhivha.
Captain Ralidzhivha said there were two other cars, a white Kia truck which turned out to be stolen from Witbank during the month of October 2016, and a white Kia Rio, which was also stolen from Garsfontein in Pretoria.
“The police searched the back rooms. In the room they discovered three firearms,” said Captain Ralidzhivha.
“No arrests were made as there was no one at the house. The firearms were booked in at the Tembisa SAPS. The vehicles were towed to the vehicle pound.”
Captain Ralidzhivha said the police are still investigating.
