NORKEM Park SAPS arrested 12 suspects over the weekend from Friday to Sunday.
The arrests were a team effort by Norkem Park crime prevention members, detectives and Ekurhuleni Metro Police.
Five motorists were arrested for driving under the influence of liquor, reckless and negligent driving, assault under domestic violence and shoplifting.
Two suspects were arrested for drugs in separate incidents on Friday, Capt Lesibana Molokkome, Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, said.
A 22-year-old man was found in possession of 0.64 grams of nyaope around noon on Silverleaf Street, Birchleigh. The second man, aged 33, was arrested in possession of 1.98kg of Cat, 120 grams of crystal meth and 26.72 grams of dagga.
Molokomme said the second arrest was made after officers received a tip off from a member of the community about a man driving a grey Toyota Yaris, parked at a Caltex garage in Chloorkop.
A team of detectives and crime prevention members responded quickly and the suspect was nabbed at 2.30pm.
