TWO petrol thieves were arrested in the early hours of this morning after trying to flee without paying for petrol.
Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesman for Norkem Park SAPS, said the two filled up with petrol valued at R600 at the Engen Garage on the corner of Strydom Street and Pongola River Drive in Birchleigh North.
As the petrol attendant was swiping their card, they sped off, leaving the card behind.
According to MML Security they received a panic activation at their control room just after 2am.
Reaction officers gave chase and cornered the suspects in their VW Polo at the intersection of Pongola River and Mooirivier drives.
