Prayer session unites residents and the police
Churches under the Greater Ivory Park Pastors Forum banner invited the Ivory Park SAPS to a prayer session that was held on Monday last week.
As part of the Ivory Park SAPS’ efforts to create a good working relationship with the community, a police delegation from the Ivory Park SAPS joined a group of local churches at the Rabie Ridge Community Hall to bring the community and the police closer to each other.
Churches under the Greater Ivory Park Pastors Forum banner invited the Ivory Park SAPS to a prayer session that was held on Monday last week.
The forum is aimed at acknowledging the good work that the police are doing in keeping communities safe, to pray for the safety of the police because of the occupational hazards that come with the job, to assure the police of their churches’ undivided support and to pray for the police and their families for more strength.
This invitation has been enthusiastically received by the police because efforts such as these serve part of the ongoing efforts by the police to combat police killings, reduce crime, bring peace and foster social cohesion.
Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, the station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, said, “The staff and management of the Ivory Park SAPS appreciates these gestures as it is important that we reach as many stakeholders in the community as possible in order to effectively fight crime and criminality.”
