Three suspects arrested for two separate murders

"Thanks to witnesses, a 29-year-old man was swiftly arrested in connection with this horrific murder."

The Ivory Park SAPS arrested three men in connection with two separate incidents of murder, which took place in Themba Khoza Informal Settlement and the nearby Lindokuhle in Ivory Park over the weekend.

In the first incident, two men aged 20 and 23, were arrested for allegedly stabbing and stoning another man in Themba Khoza Informal Settlement on Friday night last week.

It is alleged that the suspects and the deceased had had an argument.

The Ivory Park SAPS communications officer, Captain Bernard Matimulane, reported that the police, following up on information received, were quick to arrest the suspects on Sunday.

“The third suspect connected to the murder is still at large but the police are still looking. In another incident, a 22-year-old man was found dead not far from his home in Lindokuhle West, Ivory Park, in the early hours of Monday last week.

“His family last saw him when he was going to bed the night before, but the following morning he was found lying on the road not far from his home, with lots of injuries. Thanks to witnesses, a 29-year-old man was swiftly arrested in connection with this horrific murder,” said Capt. Matimulane.

He said all three of the suspects are expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon to face charges of murder.

Meanwhile the Ivory Park SAPS is appealing to anyone with information regarding another murder of a 30-year-old man, also over the weekend, to come forward.

“The victim was apparently stabbed in the neck on Sunday morning. He managed to run from the scene of the crime to his home where he told his brother that he had been stabbed. Sadly those were the last words he uttered before he succumbed to his injuries,” said Capt. Matimulane.
