Her partly decomposed body was later discovered by church-goers in Bronkhorspruit in the open veld.

Stassen had been involved in an argument with his mother before she died. He pushed her and she fell on her head.

The couple then wrapped her body in a blanket, and Minnott drove Annatjie’s car when the couple went to dump her body in the veld.

This after keeping it in Annatjie’s Spekboom Street home for two days after killing her.

The body was discovered only four days later, on November 22. Stassen is a former mechanical engineer at a water and sanitation department, and Minnott is originally from KwaNongoma in KZN. Her father was a well-known business owner in the town.
