The criminal activities of three men from Tembisa have been brought to a halt, thanks to a combined 27 year prison sentence handed to them by the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court.
The Ivory Park SAPS communications officer, Captain Bernard Matimulane, said the trio was convicted for armed robbery.
Lucky Machubeng (23), Sifiso Magazi (24) and Brian Mariba (28), were sentenced to seven years, five years and 15 years respectively on January 25 for the armed robbery committed in Ivory Park’s Ext 10 in October 2015.
“They robbed a vehicle. All three were denied bail and have been in custody since they were arrested hours after the robbery took place. The victim was also assaulted by one of the robbers as he was about to get out of the gate of the place he was residing at,” said Capt Matimulane.
Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcob, the station commander of the Ivory park SAPS, has welcomed this sentencing and the excellent investigation by the lead detective, Warrant Officer Azwindini Khakhu, whose efforts have resulted in the conviction of the men.
