Four arrested in Edleen for possession of stolen Yamaha

The black Yamaha R6 motorbike was reported stolen at the Sebenza police station in January.

FOUR suspects have been arrested for the theft of a Yamaha motorbike that was reported stolen at Sebenza SAPS in January.

Members of the Benoni Flying Squad made the arrest on February 7 at a garage along CR Swart Drive in Edleen.

According to Norkem Park SAPS communication officer, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, the SAPS members had received a complaint regarding the four suspects, who were at the garage.

“Upon arrival at the said garage the officers found four suspects who were preparing to load the motorbike, a black Yamaha R6, into one of the suspects’ white Colt van,” Molokomme explained.

“The police then made an enquiry about ownership of the motorbike and it was found that the bike was reported stolen at Sebenza SAPS in January 2017.”

The four suspects, one female aged 23 and three males aged between 23 and 30, were arrested on the scene.

The motorbike was booked in at the SAPS motor vehicle store in Benoni.

In a separate incident Norkem Park police arrested three suspects on February 8, two for assault and one for being in possession of dagga.

The suspects will appear in court on their respective charges.
