BIRCHLEIGH North residents have been without power for most of Friday.
The electricity in Strydom Street had been out in the morning and residents came back on Friday afternoon to find it was still out.
It seems only the upper part of Strydom Street, above Pongolarivier Drive, is affected.
According to ward councillor Johann Jordaan this is due to a transformer replacement being conducted.
“An old transformer on Lyle Street broke and is now being replaced with a new one,” Jordaan advised.
Power should only be restored by about midnight.
