Sections of Van Riebeeck Park will be without water this morning as a result of another pipe burst.
Ward councillor Tracey Lourenco said the burst occurred on De Villiers Street in Van Riebeeck Park and water to the area had already been switched off.
According to her this is the seventh pipe burst in the area in a week because of the same faulty pressure reducing valve malfunctioning.
Because of this, pressure builds up in the Van Riebeeck Park supply system, causing the various pipe bursts.
“The valve will be sorted out today and the metro anticipates that water should be back on by noon,” she said.
A water tanker will be on site.
