NORKEM Park SAPS arrested eight suspects in a seven-hour operation on Friday.
Capt Lesibana Molokomme, the police spokesman, said the operation took place from 9am to 3pm.
At around 11am sector vehicle members arrested two suspects, aged 28 and 30, who were in possession of dagga at Maraboe Shopping Centre in Birch Acres. The officers were performing stop-and-searches and spotted a suspicious black Ford Figo with two men inside.

“Upon searching the suspects, they recovered 5.99 grams of dagga on the one suspect and 3.39 grams on the other. The estimated street value of the dagga was R120.”
Other arrests were for common assault, assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, malicious damage to property, intimidation and theft.
Another nine suspects ended up behind bars for various crimes over the weekend.
Molokomme said the arrested suspects would face charges ranging from driving under the influence of liquor, possession of dagga and assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm to malicious damage to property and armed robbery.
A Norkem Park husband (48) was arrested on Sunday night just before midnight for assaulting his wife at their Krokodil Street home.
Molokomme said the husband apparently found the house locked when he arrived home.
When his wife heard him at the door she opened for him. An argument ensued about the locked door and the husband allegedly assaulted his wife, hitting her with the open hand, fists and kicking her all over her body.
The police were called and the suspect was arrested.
