A Tembisa man, who killed a Norkem Park woman he once worked for as a gardener, had been sentenced to life in prison.
Dingaan Ludwick Kgonyane (31) was also sentenced to 15 years in prison for robbing the victim, Rose Gaynor Krause (61) of Koba Street.
Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesman for Norkem Park SAPS, said Krause was murdered in her home on July 31, 2015, by Kgonyane, who once worked as a gardener for the deceased.
At the time of his arrest Kgonyane said the devil made him commit the murder.

Krause was found with a hammer and revolver on the ground beside her body, and a pistol lay on top of her. The house was filled with water.

D/Sgt Lefuno Magaba and D/Const Daniel Ngwato were tasked to investigate the case. Information led the officers to the accused’s house in Winnie Mandela informal settlement in Tembisa on August 2.
Upon their arrival, the suspect was not home but family members confirmed they knew him.
The following day Kgonyane handed himself over to Norkem Park police. The officers accompanied him to his house where property belonging to Krause was found.
The cluster commander, Major General Vincent Leshabane, Norkem Park Station Commander, Col Tobias Johannes Strauss, and branch commander, Lt Col André Frans Potgieter, applauded the good work done by the two investigating officers, witnesses and justice officials.
