A customer at Edleen Spar was shot in the shoulder this evening around 8pm during an armed robbery at the store.
According to reports from the scene the customer was wounded in the shoulder and was taken to Tembisa Hospital. Apparently the robbers tried to hijack his friend’s car.
It is believed five men in a silver Polo with false registration plates (DS42DNGP) were involved in the robbery.
The owner of the store and staff are rattled but all are safe. Trauma counselling has already been arranged.
ER24, Emer-G-Med, the metro police and the flying squad were on the scene. They are currently waiting for forensics.
During a search of the parking area some of the stolen money was recovered., as well as keys.
