I went to Zuurfontein Cemetery about midday [Sunday] to my son’s grave.
As I entered the gate there was a police car with its lights on. I passed it and saw people standing on the side of the road.
I stopped and asked them what was wrong. They said they were robbed at the grave they were at by two men that told them to lie down. They took all there handbags, money and everything they had.
The older woman said she could not lie down and she did not have her handbag as it was in the car. They told her they would shoot them.
The men then went to their car, a white Mini they bought two weeks ago and stole the car. They were so stressed.
Can a person not go to your loved one’s grave anymore without the fear of being attacked?
It’s a disgrace, something needs to be done. A few months ago we were told when buying flowers near the gate that we must be careful as there are men in a car that will rob and attack us.
