Arrested for killing friend

A twenty-year-old has been arrested for stabbing his friend to death.

A 20-year-old man allegedly stabbed and killed his friend in a squabble over money at Mqantsa section on March 18.

Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha said the man was arrested for murder.

“It was alleged by police detectives who attended the scene that the deceased and the suspect knew each other. They were working together and stayed at the same address.

“According to the landlord he was awoken by noises at about 5am when the two were fighting over money. The landlord intervened and the two men calmed down.

“The landlord went back to sleep. He later heard them shouting at each other again. He went to investigate and found one of the men had been stabbed. The man was taken to hospital, where he was certified dead on arrival. The suspect ran away from the scene. Police traced him and arrested him,” said Captain Ralidzhivha.
