Captain Mofana Matsobane Masela said policing initiatives led recently to the recovery and seizure of firearms.

“The month of March was characterised by serious crimes like house robberies, business robberies, hijacking, murder, fraud and theft – more especially theft of canopies in Phomolong.

“Other crimes include the use of bank cards and medical aid cards to defraud institutions, and stealing from unsuspecting people in the community,” said Captain Masela.

“Police officers are appealing to the community to report anyone seen committing these crimes.

“Police operations will intensify to recover more firearms that are killing our communities.

“The police involved communities to establish patrols and other community partnership initiatives to combat crime,” said Captain Masela.
