A taxi owner was shot and killed in Phomolong, along ET Mdakalaan Street, on Thursday, March 23.
Captain Mofana Matsobane Masela said the victim was in his car with a friend when an unknown car drove past and stopped some distance away.
“The assailant walked back on foot, approached the victim’s car and fired a number of shots at the victim.
“We counted about 14 bullets that hit the victim. Paramedics certified him dead on the scene,” said Captain Masela.
Captain Masela said the reason for the shooting is unknown. A case of murder has been opened and investigations are ongoing.
