EKURHULENI Progressive Professional Forums (PPF) congratulated the executive mayor, Clr Mzwandile Masina and his administration on successfully completing what it had set out to accomplish in its 100-day programme.
“The mayor’s commitment to service delivery and improving the lives of the people of Ekurhuleni is commendable,” said Herman Radali, chairperson of the PPF Ekurhuleni.
The forum also welcomed his State of the City address.
“He reflected on the implementation of the city’s Siyaqhuba service delivery programme, which is a mechanism to transform the relationship of government authorities and members of the community. Siyaqhuba is his call to intensify transformation and to fast track implementation, Radali said in a statement.
“As the PPF we are thrilled and excited about the city’s economic 10-point plan. We are particularly excited about the manufacturing revitalisation, which will ensure an increased investment into the city and the retention of skills.
“We are also excited about the city’s campaign to have its own university. The mayor’s endeavours for skills development within the city are highly commendable.
“We further commend the city on having placed 2 545 unemployed youth through the unemployed graduate and youth work readiness programme; and supports the city’s resolve to ring-fence over R12-billion procurement opportunities to local-local entrepreneurs.
“We are mindful of the challenges faced by black businesses and emerging black owned businesses and we are committed to providing the city with the required support in order to overcome these challenges.”
