A Cresslawn resident’s laptop and PlayStation are gone after thieves tried to con his domestic worker into allowing them into the house.
Although she did not fall for their story, they jumped over the wall and entered the house anyway, said Willie Visser.
The incident happened on March 30, he said. People showed up at his gate and told his domestic worker, who had been with him for 21 years, they came to fix the lights.
She told them she knew nothing about this, upon which the men said they would call him (Visser). They pretended to call him and told his employee he (Visser) said they could enter the house.
Still not believing them, the domestic worker said she was going to call Visser herself. She went into the house to make the call.
“While she was talking to me, they jumped over the wall and entered the house. When she caught them in the house, they told her to keep quiet or they would kill her,” Visser said.
The men fled with the laptop and PlayStation.
