A 33-year-old man was arrested in Tsenelong section by SAPS members who were on patrol on March 30.
Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha said SAPS members were patrolling around Tsenelong section when they noticed a man loading goods into a vehicle.
“Police approached the man and found him loading vehicle tyres. They asked him where he got the tyres from and he told police that he took them from a house not far from where the vehicle was parked.
He went with police to the house, where they found a car parked on bricks. Police went to the house and knocked on the door and woke up the owner,” said Captain Ralidzhivha.
He said police asked the owner whether he knew that his car’s tyres had been stolen.
“When he went to inspect his vehicle he found his tyres were gone. The car was left standing on bricks.”
Immediately the owner came with police to the station to open a case of theft from a motor vehicle.
Captain Ralidzhivha said the suspect was detained at Tembisa cells and will appear soon before the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court to answer charges of theft from a motor vehicle and possession of suspected stolen goods.
