A suspect wanted for a spate of hijackings in Tembisa was nabbed by the metro police on Friday.
In his possession officers found a police appointment card and a driver’s licence not belonging to him.
“The man has been on the run for some months. Metro police officers missed arresting the elusive suspect by a hair’s breadth in mid-February when two hijacked vehicles were recovered and one of his alleged accomplices was arrested,” mero police spokesperson, Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, said.
The 44-year-old suspect’s luck ran out on Friday night when he was cornered and arrested in Tembisa.
