Robbers escape with truck-load of margarine

Investigations are underway to obtain information that will lead to the arrest of the persons involved

A white Hino 300 refrigerated truck from Botswana laden with margarine, hijacked on Thursday, April 13 in Bapsfontein, was recovered a day later in Isando with its cargo of margarine missing.

Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesman, said the EMPD loss control and tracing unit found the truck via a vehicle tracking system in Isando at the intersection of Isando and Monteer roads around 11.30am on Friday, April 14.

“The recovered vehicle was taken to the SAPS pound at Van Ryn Deep in Benoni. Investigations are underway to obtain information that will lead to the arrest of the persons involved in the hijacking and theft of the stolen cargo.”
