Ivory Park SAPS detectives have arrested a 22-year-old man in Kaalfontein in connection with a murder after another young man succumbed to stab wounds in Extension 11 in Ivory Park on April 23.
It is alleged that the suspect was part of a group which stabbed the victim, who was 27 years old, after an argument on the afternoon of Sunday April 23.
“The victim fled to another address nearby, where he was found by the owner of the place, who immediately alerted the police to his presence.
“He had three wounds on both legs and on the back. He was later identified by his landlord. The suspect was expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court this Friday to answer to a charge of murder. Meanwhile the search for the other suspects alleged to be involved in the murder is underway,” said the Ivory Park SAPS communication officer, Captain Bernard Matimulane.
The station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, said, “We are tremendously thankful to witnesses who came forward with information, especially those who went as far as making statements under oath to the police. Their efforts have helped us a lot and this should be emulated by the community.”
