No pothole will stop these painters

Ward 17 DA Clr Simon Lapping cannot understand why would road workers ignore potholes and paint over them.

DISAPPOINTED ward councillor Simon Lapping described the behaviour of road workers as “sheer incompetence” after they painted white traffic lines across potholes in Isando.

Lapping said the intersection of Foundary Street and Barbara Road had been plagued by potholes due to heavy traffic in this industrial area. He said he had been requesting that the intersection be filled with concrete in order to handle heavy-duty vehicles.

“More potholes which caused an accident recently have still not been attended to but the road markers were there to paint the roads. There is only one way to describe this – sheer incompetence,” said Lapping.

Meanwhile, another resident of Kempton Park complained to Kempton EXPRESS about the number of potholes that have not been closed across numerous roads and streets, even though they have been reported to the municipality.
