Cash-in-transit guards robbed at Tembisa mall

G4S security guards robbed of money in Tembisa.

Security guards were held up at Tembisa Plaza and robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash on May 6.

Tembisa South SAPS Communication Officer Captain Nelda Sekgobela said, on the day, security guards were collecting money from one of the businesses in Tembisa Plaza.

“On his way out of the building, the guard was confronted by a man who cocked a firearm and instructed the guard to lie down,” Sekgobela said.

“The complainant stopped and the suspect took his firearm and an undisclosed amount of cash from him.”

It is alleged that there were four suspects who fled the scene in a silver Mercedes-Benz with an unknown registration number.

Tembisa South SAPS is appealing to anyone who can assist the police with information which could lead to the arrest of the suspects to come forward.
