Alleged tyre thief arrested

"The police opened a case of possession of suspected stolen property."

A man was arrested for possession stolen tyres in Moriting Section on May 15.

Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha said the 22-year-old man was found pushing a trolley loaded with tyres during the early hours of Monday morning.

“Police asked where he got them from. He told police that he was dropped off by his employer and the tyres were given to him from work. Police took him to the place in Mqantsa Section where he alleged he was working. The security informed the police that the suspect does not work there and they don’t know him,” said Ralidzhivha.

“He took the police to Essellen Park after further alleging that the tyres belong to his brother. The people at the house were also looking for the man.”

Ralidzhivhaa said the suspect then told the police he had stolen the tyres from a house in Moriting Section where he was found pushing the trolley .

“The police opened a case of possession of suspected stolen property.

“He will be appearing in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.”
