Church feeding scheme boosted by partnership
Clicks Norkem Park and Trinity United Church unite to feed the needy through the church's feeding scheme.
TRINITY United Church and Clicks Norkem Park have come together to strengthen the church’s feeding scheme in an attempt to alleviate hunger among the needy.
The feeding scheme has been operating from the church for over 17 years as its members reach out to the needy every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
The church has numerous community outreach programmes that benefit all members of society, including children, youth and the elderly, and plans to continue growing these.

Neil Heath-Hertley, from Clicks, said: “Clicks Norkem Park has been involved in outreach initiatives with local schools and old age homes for some time, and we are delighted to now partner with Trinity United’s feeding scheme. What excites us more is that the church is actually our neighbour and we cannot wait to feed all the people who rely on this church for a meal every week.”
Individuals and companies are also invited to sponsor the church’s feeding scheme or its other initiatives. Lay pastor Henry Serfontein said there is no such thing as a small donation.
Church member Adele Davis said: “We will even accept items people no longer use as we can sell these to raise funds for the feeding scheme. This feeding scheme is funded by the congregation. We are all doing what the Lord wants us to do and we invite others to help.”
Anyone interested in helping or contributing to the feeding scheme can contact Lilian Lombart on 011 391 2473.
Clicks has already made a donation of nappies and chocolate to the church.
