Man killed on De Wiekus Road trying to jump start his car
Unfortunately nothing could be done to save the man and he was declared dead on the scene
A man was killed on Saturday evening when he was hit by a car on De Wiekus Road in Van Riebeeck Park while trying to jump start his car.
According to Annine Siddall, spokesperson for ER24, the accident happened at about 6pm.
“It is believed the driver of the car was standing next to his car, trying to jump start his vehicle, when another car hit and killed him. At the time of their arrival, ER24 paramedics found the man lying next to his vehicle,” she said.
Unfortunately nothing could be done to save the man and he was declared dead on the scene.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
