A 10-year-old girl was left seriously injured this evening when she was hit by a train near Besembos Street.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the provincial services assessing the patient, Russel Meiring of ER24 said.
Upon assessment, paramedics found the girl had sustained numerous injuries to her arm and was in a serious condition.
Paramedics treated the girl and provided her with pain relief medication before she was transported to Tembisa Hospital for further care.
It is understood the girl had been walking home along the tracks when she was struck by the train, Meiring added.
