Two Pretoria men arrested for theft in Tembisa

Pretoria criminals arrested in Tembisa.

Two suspects were arrested in Esselen Park for a car stolen in Witbank on May 23.

Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha said members of SAPS Flying Squad were informed, while they were on patrol in the area, of a blue Renault driving on the R21.

“SAPS flying squad immediately went to the R21. They spotted the vehicle with a false registration number-plate. Suspects noticed the police car and drove off at a high speed.

“A chase ensued and proceeded to Esselen Park. The suspects, seeing that they could not get away, stopped the vehicle, got out and tried to run away,” said Ralidzhivha.

He said the police, with the Ekurhuleni Metro Police, gave chase on foot.

He said two suspects – both from Mamelodi in Pretoria – were apprehended.

A third suspect managed to run away.

“The police noticed the suspects throwing a black bag through the window.

“When police searched the bag, they found two firearms with eleven live rounds of ammunition,” said Ralidzhivha.

He said the two suspects, aged 30 and 33, will appear before the magistrate in the Tembisa court.
