Five suspects entered a business in Esangweni Section on May 26, where they held up the staff and customers.
According to the Tembisa South SAPS communications officer, Captain Neldah Sekgobela, the suspects all had firearms.
“They confronted the manager and the staff members who were busy helping the customers and demanded money.
“The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money and then robbed the customers, who were inside the shop, of their money and cellular phones,” said Sekgobela.
Sekgobela said they are appealing to community members who might have information regarding the suspects to come forward and assist the police to bring the suspects to book.
It is alleged that one of the suspects is light in complexion, about 1,7 metres tall, has a scar on the right side of his cheek and was speaking fluent English.
