MES’ winter hope campaign will kick off later this month.

“SINCE the kick-off of the MES (Mould Empower Serve) Baby and Toddler Competition in Kempton Express last week, there has been an increase in enquiries for this exciting initiative,” says Duane Edwards, Kempton Park branch manager.

This competition forms part of the Kempton Park Kids Festival on August 26 and the winners will be announced at 12.30pm at the festival at Dries Niemandt Park. The entry fee for the competition is R45 a child. The photographer is visiting schools to take photographs. Parents can also make an appointment with Mike McLaughlin from Photomac Photography on 071 686 2168. An A5 size photo is included in the entry fee.

The prizes for each category winner are:

• 1st Prize: R600 and family photo shoot with Photomac Photography

• 2nd Prize: R300

• 3rd Prize: R100

The categories are 0-12 months, 12-36 months and 3-6 years.

Edwards concludes: “By entering the competition, you make a difference in the Kempton Park inner city, as proceeds go towards the work that is done by MES. We also want to encourage our community to continuously get involve in our initiatives, aiming at bringing hope to the homeless in the heart of the inner city.

“In June we will run our winter hope campaign and any support in terms of warm clothing is welcome.”

Another example of getting involved in the organisation is to contribute R100 a month. This amount can assist in funding one child for one month in the after-school programme or it helps to provide one client with 20 meals.
