The meth was packed into two plastic bags and a bucket, and weighed 21kg

THE Hawks have taken over a crystal meth bust case following “strange developments” in the discovery of the drugs.

On Friday morning, more than R250 000 worth of the drugs, weighing 21kg, was discovered in a Kempton CBD flat on Greyilla Avenue.

According to EMPD spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, crime intelligence officers from the organisation were called in to handle the investigation.

“Due to peculiar developments arising at the scene, the metro police were compelled to summon crime intelligence officers from Pretoria to investigate. The scene was subsequently handed over to the Hawks.”

In-depth investigations by the Hawks are underway, Kgasago confirmed.
