SEVENTEEN arrests were made by Sebenza SAPS between June 2 and 5 for various crimes.
The crimes include possession of dagga, assault, house-breaking, theft and possession of stolen property.
On Monday morning, around 4am, nine suspects were arrested for possession of stolen property in Chloorkop after Sgt Carnatias Berresh and Const Tiyane Phakula spotted some suspicious behaviour.

They were patrolling on Zuurfontein Road when they saw a bakkie with an overload of boxes and a black BMW following them.
“When the officers tried to stop the bakkie and BMW they sped off leading to a high speed chase to a yard in Chloorkop,” said Sebenza SAPS spokesperson, Sgt Sharon Tsotsotso.
“On arrival a lot of people were running in different directions and only nine suspects could be apprehended.”
Laptops, laptop bags, computer cables and mouses were found inside the house. The value of the stolen goods is unknown.
A case of theft and possession of stolen goods was opened and is being investigated by the police.
