Assist drive to keep children warm

The drive is organised by the Mentor, Empower and Love Others (MELO) Foundation

BIRCH Acres resident Tumelo Mthethwa is asking all residents to open their hearts and pockets and to donate towards her beanie, scarf, glove and soup drive during June.

‘Make them warmer, make them happier’, is the theme for the drive. All donations will be handed over to children at Tembisa Child Welfare on July 1.

Beanies, scarves, gloves and soup-making ingredients are all welcome.

The drive is organised by the Mentor, Empower and Love Others (MELO) Foundation as well as the the Kya.Ithata.Org founded by Mthethwa and Lerato Machaba respectively.

“Everyone is welcome to join us on July 1 when we hand over the warm goodies to the kids, make them soup and spend the day displaying love to them,” said Mthethwa.

“All donations will be greatly appreciated,” she added.

Tembisa Child Welfare at 157 Milky Way Street was founded in 1986 and is home to around 80 children aged 0 – 21.
