Mad Rage picks its ambassadors to fight child abuse

The pageant was held for people to enjoy a day in a relaxed environment

MAD Rage, founded in 2013 with the mission to spread awareness of child abuse, hosted its annual Miss and Mr Mad Rage Beauty Pageant in May.

The pageant is run by former Miss and Mrs Mad Rage winners, Cindy-Lee Burrell and Susan Myburgh.

The pageant was held for people to enjoy a day in a relaxed environment at Marechelle Country Estate learning about the prevention of child abuse.

Although there were winners announced in each category, the organisers selected only three overall winners to act as ambassadors against child abuse. These winners were Tene Minderon, Shaun Kampila and Denisha Schlebusch.

Mad Rage has a crisis-line people can call 24/7 to report abuse of children and they also give advice on procedures to follow. They will even report any noted abuse on your behalf.

Mad Rage is a registered non-profit company. They collect fluffy toys which are handed to the family violence, child protection and sexual offences units of the police. Various other organisations dealing directly with abused children are also provided with toys to help ease the trauma and to bring these children a little closure.

Money is donated to organisations that rehabilitate abused children and is also used to help with the day-to-day running of Mad Rage.
