Say-no-to-social-ills march to be hosted by Lion Stars

All donations collected on the day will be given to John Wesley Children's Home

THE Lion Stars Youth Development Centre in Maxwell Street for troubled youth, together with Warrior Angels of Light, is hosting a protest march on June 16.

“The purpose of the march is to address the social ills in our community, namely drug and alcohol abuse, xenophobia and racism,” said event organiser from Lion Stars Development, Jonathan Kabasele.

Community members are urged to join the march from 9am when everyone will get together at the Lion Stars training ground, 42 Maxwell Street.

The march will start at 9.30am and move to Greyilla Street, Central Avenue, Monument Road, Long Street and Casuarina Street before heading back to the training ground.

Around 11am there will be sport activities for the youth and motivational speakers will deliver speeches.

“We are urging all community members to join us in this struggle against these social problems. Please march with us to make a difference.”

All donations collected on the day will be given to John Wesley Children’s Home.
