Testing grounds locks its doors without any notification to public

Van Zyl expressed his disgust with the poor communication from the metro

Many Kemptonians rocked up at Kempton Park Testing Grounds on Monday morning just to find out the facility is closed.

Ward councillor Gideon van Zyl said he had been inundated with calls from frustrated residents this morning who wanted to know what was going on.

According to Van Zyl no services are currently rendered at the testing station, except for applicants with appointments being allowed to write their learner tests.

According to him the facility is closed for renovations, which could last up to three weeks.

Express called Themba Gadebe, metro spokesman, after being informed of the situation. He insisted we first send the marketing department a written request for information. He also offered we could call him back later today.

Van Zyl expressed his disgust with the poor communication from the metro to the community about the closure.
