Tswelopele section centre and youth commemorate June 16

Tembisa Megamart celebrated June 16 with Tembisa youth at their shopping centre in Tswelopele section.

Centre manager Andreas Mathe said the reason the centre decided to stage the event was to teach young people about the history of South Africa.

“The youth of ’76 sacrificed their lives in fighting the injustices of the past regime for us to be where we are today. Young people must know where we come from. The event was a huge success,” said Mathe.

He said young people were given winter caps, beanies and sweets.

“We had DJ Sabby from Yfm and local performers like Anaconda,” said Mathe.
