JAM, NBBC move small business forward

Joseph Achievers Mentoring (JAM) programme partnered with the National Black Business Caucus (NBBC) to move small businesses forward.

On June 10, Joseph Achievers Mentoring (JAM) programme partnered with the National Black Business Caucus (NBBC) to move small businesses forward.

Tembisa Entrepreneurs attended the workshop hosted at RoyalHouse International Church where the small business owners were given tips on business funding as well as other business aspects.

“The workshop was aimed at addressing practical challenges facing new entrepreneurs which include access to funding, business development and branding,” said Pastor Welcome Thamsanqa Mlungisi Dlalisa.

The day-long workshop was facilitated by the chief executive officer of NBBC, Mr Volchere Kgekwane, who addressed issues of Government procurement laws like preferential procurement, green economy, access to markets, access to funding, partnerships and the role of NBBC in supporting small to medium enterprises.

Pastor Dlalisa said the joint venture between JAM and NBBC’s business seminar was graced by delegates from different sectors including the construction, services, training and development, retail and engineering industry.

He said the workshop was a success and that all entrepreneurs jointly agreed to follow up on subsequent business seminars which were going to take place very soon.

“Other organisations have agreed to come on board and join us at our next seminar. These partners are Standard Bank, Cash Cow (Investment Company), Regiment (Investment Company), Industrial Development Cooperation (IDC) and the National Empowerment Fund (NEF),” said Pastor Dlalisa.

“We therefore extend the invitation to all entrepreneurs and aspirant entrepreneurs across Tembisa to attend this next seminar,” he added.

The next seminar will be held on June 24 at the RoyalHouse International Church at 532 Entshonalanga Section (next to EWC FET college).
