Moagi to officially launch her catering and baking business

Local entrepreneur such as Gugulethu Moagi of Teanong section is confident that her small business in catering and baking will lead her to greener pastures.

Moagi (32), who has entered the competition of Enterprise Woman SA (EWSA) 2017, is one of the top 20 finalists in category of new in business.

“I’ve always wanted to have my own business and change my life and the people around me. I have a passion for cooking and baking, Thanks to EWSA competition now I am the CEO of my own company ‘Lelethu Cherry Blossoms’. To be able to develop and run a lucrative business, you need to know the right channels on how to market your business and sell your ideas. And also join small enterprise competition and attend business workshops,” says Moagi.

Moagi, a mother of one, is also a member of Siyanakekela Community Project that helps needy people from funds and sponsorship raised within the community.

This former producer of cooking show called Spheka vha? programme that use to be played at the Midrand and Tembisa Television, has currently created job opportunities for three people in the township.

“It is a big step and achievement for me to be in the top 20 finalists of EWSA. We are being groomed and mentored to become independent business women. I am hoping with the necessary skills provided at EWSA, I will be the best successful business woman in the township. In this competition, I will have an opportunity to empower disabled youth in Tembisa,” added Moagi.

Moagi will be officially launching her business at the White House Lodge on July 8, 2017.

“I am appealing to members of the community to support my business,” said Moagi.

Lelethu Cherry Blossom is a company that focuses on dealing with not only baking and catering but educating interested people on how to use easily accessible household food items to make decent and tasty meals.

When asked how do they achieve this Moagi said it is through vlogging.

“The vlog will be a step-by-step instructional video that teaches the view on how to prepare the meal,” she said.

How does this benefit your business? Moagi said “By showing viewers that we prepare basic meals in a clean environment and vlog helps us gain the viewers’ trust as they will feel more comfortable to work with us. This will also help to create traffic on our website and make it easier for any client who might need to Google a baking or catering company to find us.”
