The owner of a blue Toyota Tazz who resides in Tembisa, was shocked when he woke up on Sunday morning to find his vehicle missing from his yard.
Fortunately, the vehicle has a tracking system and was recovered around 10am along the N3 freeway near the Modderfontein on-ramp. Two male suspects found in the stolen vehicle were arrested.
According to Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesperson, records revealed that the vehicle was stolen from Motsu Section around 3am. Immediately after the owner had alerted Rentrak, the metro police with Rentrak officials swiftly reacted and were able to track down the vehicle in the Sandringham area at the Modderfontein turn-off from the N3 freeway.
Two male suspects found in the stolen Toyota Tazz were arrested. The suspects, both aged 25, were found to be undocumented Mozambican nationals who claimed they reside in Katlehong.
The pair was detained at Sandringham Police Station on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle.
