Mfanelo to participate in Collins Chabane Heritage Festival

The selection process through a live audition was held at Sam Hlalele Hall

Former VoT presenter Mfanelo “Dzanibe” Mnguni has been selected to represent Gauteng Province in Collins Chabane Heritage Festival to be held in Limpopo.

Mfanelo will be representing the province as a singer and will entertain the audience with various cultural songs.

The event seeks to uphold the legacy of the late Minister of Public Service and Administration, Collins Chabane.

Mfanelo has been chosen as the finalist that will compete for a R100 000 cash prize, a car plus a recording deal.

The selection process involves a live audition at the Sam Hlalele Hall next to Tembisa Plaza on August 5.

When asked what this all means to him, Mfanelo said he was honoured to have been chosen and was looking forward to meeting ‘the best’ in Limpopo. He is keen to learn more about their culture and likes to have fun while celebrating culture and heritage.

“I’ve learnt that in whatever you do, being rooted in culture is important. Never be afraid or ashamed of who you are by telling the story in your language. Who will win the grand prize shall be decided by people making up twenty per cent of the vote, and by the judges who make up eighty per cent of the vote. Tembisans have never disappointed me so I believe I can win,” added Mfanelo.

The Collins Chabane Cultural Heritage Festival will be held on the 2nd of September at Malamulele Stadium and will feature Benny Mayengani, Joe Shirimane, Candy Tsamandebele, Rhofhiwa and many other prominent artists.
