Ivory Park SAPS detectives have arrested a 39-year-old man from Diepsloot, near Johannesburg, for the alleged murder of his girlfriend.
Following the murder that took place on August 12 at Ivory Park where the victim was stabbed to death with a knife, Ivory Park SAPS embarked on a non-stop investigation which on August 14 took them to Diepsloot where the man was arrested.
Ivory Park SAPS communication officer, Capt Bernard Matimulane said the man’s girlfriend was found dead on August 12 at Ivory Park with a stab wound to the chest.
“Investigations into who the lady was, where she came from and the circumstances under which she was found commenced immediately thereafter. It was later established the victim, 34, came together with the boyfriend and others to Ivory Park and the two had an argument which culminated in her death. She was left dead until she was seen by passers-by who alerted the police,” said Matimulane.
“We are saddened by the ease with which lives are taken, worst part by partners, whose duty is to love and cherish their other half. I sincerely want to public thank my officers who worked non-stop to ensure that the person suspected of being responsible for this atrocity is brought to justice,” said Brig David Mbongeni Ngcobo, the station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS.
